A Nostalgic Time

Our efforts to instill knowledge on solid waste separation among the residents did not stop at the kindergartens. We decided to extend our reach towards residents to something more ambitious, which is primary schools. Three primary schools were visited in the same week. They comprise of SJK(C) Kelpin, SK Taman Rasah Jaya and SJK(C) Sin Hwa, in chronological order.

Basically, we went upstage with three polystyrene boards that resemble miniature models of recycling bins. When delivering the speeches, we elaborated on the fundamentals of solid waste separation and the 3R concept (, , ). Of course, we had to rephrase these technicalities into points that are intelligible to kids. These were all done during the morning assembly of each school.

It was nostalgic for us and memories of our younger years flooded our mind. We hope the students keep the conveyed message in mind and share it with their parents whilst getting encouraged to practise the concepts introduced.
